In Liska, one of the holiest places on earth, special moments abound as the deep and blessing-laden prayers recited at the grave of the great tzadik, Rebbe Hershele Lisker zt"l, resonate with the faithful.

This prayer asks for healing for the sick, wealth for the poor, and peace and health for the people of Israel and all of humanity. Liska has historically been an important place in Jewish life, especially because it was where the Liska Rebbe established a remarkable synagogue, which was one of the largest in Europe then. The memory of the town and its tzadik remains alive and vibrant in Jewish communities, as countless individuals come to request blessings following the Kivrei Tzadikim customs.

Rebbe Hershele Lisker (רבי הערשעלע ליסקער), also known as Zvi Hirsh Friedmann (צבי הירש פרידמאן), or the renowned author of the Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה), was among the great hasidic leaders, and his teachings continue to influence his followers to this day. The Rebbe’s deep Torah knowledge and Hasidic wisdom were shaped by his time as a disciple of the famous Teitelbaum Moshe zt"l (משה טייטלבוים זצ״ל), also known as the Yismach Moshe (ישמח משה). This bond between disciple and teacher continues to thrive in Hasidic circles, especially among the Satmar community, which honors the memories of both Teitelbaum and Rebbe Hershele Lisker.

Hasidic communities around the world, including those in Borough Park, Williamsburg, and across Israel, maintain a profound respect for the town of Liska and the legacy of the Liska Rebbe. The Liska cemetery is an important site within the Kivrei Tzadikim tradition, where the merit of the tzadik imbues prayers with remarkable strength. On the yahrzeit (יארצייט) of the Rebbe's passing, thousands of individuals embark on a pilgrimage to this site to pray and ask for blessings for their families and communities. 

The Liska Rebbe’s spiritual legacy, articulated in texts such as Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה) and Hayoshor veHatov (הישר והטוב), serves as a guiding light for Jewish communities worldwide. The sacred land of Liska is not just a historical site of miracles and blessings; it remains a place where heartfelt prayers are heard, bringing blessings to all who seek them.
